October is Here! Let’s Decorate for Halloween!
October has arrived, and as you know, I absolutely love decorating my house! I’m thrilled to pull out my boxes of Halloween decorations and start transforming my home into a spooky, yet fun space.
My children love it too! It’s like a show for them, watching me bring Halloween to life in every corner of the house. They sit down and watch the whole process, excited for what comes next.
How I Decorate My Home for Halloween
I always start with the centerpiece in my dining room. I love using candles, skulls, and pumpkins to create a spooky yet cozy atmosphere. In the living room, I swap out regular pillows for Halloween-themed pillows—they add the perfect touch of fun.
Outside the house, I go all out with orange and purple lights, making the exterior look festive and spooky. The inflatables are a must! They’re super fun, come in all sizes and themes, and are so easy to store once Halloween is over.
Decorating for Small Children: Fun, Not Frightening
Since my kids are still small, I like to keep the decorations spooky but cute. It’s all about striking the right balance so they’re entertained but not scared. I hang funny ghosts from the trees and balconies, put spiders climbing up to my balcony, and stick bats on the front door.
Halloween Traditions We Love
On Halloween night, we all dress up in the same theme. It’s become a fun family tradition that my kids look forward to every year. I also host a mini Halloween party at my house with my children’s friends before we head out for trick-or-treating. Before we leave, I always leave a basket of candy outside for other kids to grab as they come by.
Watching other families in their costumes is just as fun for us as it is for the kids. It’s such a magical evening filled with creativity, laughter, and of course, lots of candy!
